Please stop by my office, Park 331, to talk math, often! I greatly enjoy teaching mathematics at all levels, and interacting with students in office hours is one of the most enjoyable ways we do this important work together!
I am on research leave in 2024/25 at the School of Mathematics at the Institute for Advanced Study. During the semesters, my weekly schedule is posted outside my office, Park 331. Appointments are also always available - just email me!
All course materials are available on Moodle.
In 2025/26 I will be teaching: (Fall) Real Analysis I and Graduate Analysis I, (Spring) Transitions to Higher Mathematics and Graduate Analysis II.
Other courses I have taught recently: Calculus II, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Elementary Number Theory, Real Analysis I, Real Analysis II, Functions of Complex Variable, Number Theory, Senior Conference, Graduate Analysis I, Graduate Analysis II, Complex Analysis.
Considering a Ph.D. in Mathematics at Bryn Mawr College? Our graduates have phenomenal academic job placement rates because they grow as researchers, teachers, and mentors in a genuine teacher-scholar environment and thrive in our supportive, tight-knit community. Here are my doctoral students.
What, where, how
I am happy to write letters of reference, especially for students who have not shied away from challenging classes (for their year and program of study). Writing a good letter takes time, so I ask that you please reach out to me at least three weeks in advance of the first due date. A quick email suffices - I will let you know what else I need.
I warmly welcome interest from undergraduate and graduate students wishing to do thesis research with me. Undergraduate and AB/MA students should reach out during the Spring term of their junior year, so that we can decide on an exciting topic before the summer break. Ideally, students writing a research thesis with me will have taken Real Analysis I, as well as at least one additional elective with me (such as one of Math 290/390 or one of Math 302/322/501).
